"The Big Year" on the Big Screen

On October 14th, a new movie based on the popular birding book "The Big Year" by Mark Obmascik will open in theaters.  The movie stars Jack Black, Steve Martin, and Owen Wilson as they travel across North America to see as many different bird species as possible within one year.

The movie presents a great opportunity to discuss birding as a pastime, educate folks about birds, and raise awareness of economic benefits traveling birders can bring. For example, try scheduling a local showing of the movie as a fundraiser followed by discussion of birding.

If you decide to schedule an event, let us know and we'll help publicize it!
